Architecture

Work is split into channels, and each channel has one defined job.

Research channel

Daily research, writing and analysis in Normal or High Think. High Think adds retrieval, an independent QA edit and deterministic checks.

Audits, Dig synthesis, checkpointed agent tasks and long documents, with adaptive reasoning depth.

Owner-controlled execution locked to maximum reasoning depth, for direct work across tools, documents and code.

Cortex Code

Software builds: plan, parallel build, test-and-repair and visual review, under a per-build budget cap.

Under the hood

The stable part of the instructions is sent apart from per-turn context, so providers can cache it. Greetings take a light path with a smaller budget. An empty or truncated answer triggers one request for the final answer instead of a blank reply. Background stages extract memory and rewrite folder briefs, and a 1,024-dimension embedding index ranks memory, library and literature by meaning.

Every reply leaves a record: process log, timing trace, tokens and cost.
